About Me

IMG_1382.jpg

Hey, I’m Talaya Johnson-Murphy.... unfortunately, my mother gave me two last names— fundraiser by profession, mama by miracle, and engaged to a man who I would be lost without.

At 29, I became pregnant for the first time, and at 30, I became a first-time mom and immediately realized I was both underprepared and over-Googled. Add working full-time in fundraising, figuring out how to keep a tiny human alive, and planning a wedding (eventually?)—and you’ve got the perfect storm of chaos, love, and Amazon Prime deliveries.

This blog is where I keep it real: the joys, the meltdowns (mine, my finance's, and the baby’s), and all the in-between moments of becoming a mom while still trying to hold on to who I am. It’s motherhood with a side of sarcasm and a heart full of truth.

Stick around. Bring snacks. Cry-laugh with me. We’re doing the best we can—and honestly, that’s more than enough.

P.S. is it ever really about us?
